Premier League: Birmingham vs. Manchester City

In Barclays Premiership League, Football on October 30, 2009 at 14:40

By Joe, www.Bettingexpert.com

Carson Yeung investing in Birmingham will help their cause to fight the relegation battle this season.

Cash injections and new players are one main topic among both teams that are meeting up in St. Andrews. Birmingham with Carson Yeung injecting £40million into the club is good news but that is dwarfed by the City’s sizeable amount spent in the post season by the rich Saudi owners.  With all the off the field headlines topping the news page, it is really the result on Sunday that will be remembered this season.

Last week, new owner millionaire Hong Kong businessman, Carson Yeung watched his team claim victory over Sunderland picking up their first win since August in the Premiership. Yenug promised Manger Alex McLeish that there will be money made available to spend so Birmingham will be looking forward to strengthen their team when the transfer window opens. McLeish will be without Bent, Espinoza, Murphy, Martin Taylor and Joe Hart as he is ineligible to play his former club while on loan. Fahey is ruled doubtful to face City.

Manchester City won 5-0 in the midweek against Scunthorpe in the Carling Cup. It is certainly a good warm match leading up to the Birmingham match for Mark Hughes’s men. Both Manchester City duo Kolo Toure and Martin Petrov missing out the midweek tie but they should return in time to face Birmingham. The only players who will not feature in the squad are Nedum Onuoha and Robinho. It looks like a strong attacking City team that will travel to St. Andrews.

Manchester City are favourites to collect three points in St. Andrews in the only Premiership match on Sunday. There is a serious competition for the two attacking places available on the starting line up and that could prove the edge for Manchester City. Birmingham will ride on their luck and hopefully overcome their scoring problem.

Premier League: Arsenal vs. Tottenham

In Barclays Premiership League, Football on October 29, 2009 at 11:20

By Joe, www.Bettingexpert.com

The London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham will go into new heights as both teams are challenge for a top spot in the Premier League.

The north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham is one of the fiercest rivalries in the Premiership. Arsenal will be hosting their north London counterparts in the Emirates Stadium in a Saturday early afternoon kickoff. This year both teams are on the top of the table and they will fight it out for a place in the top of the league to challenge for Premiership title.

Arsenal have made a great start to their season in all fronts. In the midweek, they finished off Liverpool in the Carling Cup winning 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium. It was virtually their second team who played but key members like Nicklas Bendter, who got the winner against Liverpool, Samir Nasri, Eduardo and Senderos got a run out. Manager Arsene Wenger will certainly re-call his usual starting eleven and hope to keep up with the pace -setters, Chelsea. Jack Wilshere , Theo Walcott, Denilson, Fabianski  and Tomas Rosicky are all ruled out to face Spurs.

Tottenham started their Premiership campaign fast and furious but last weekend, their 2-1 defeat to Stoke City at White Hart Lane put them back down on their feet. They are currently fourth in the Premier League level on points with Arsenal at 14. However, Arsenal have a better goal score. Spurs beat Everton 2-0 in the Carling Cup with Robbie Keane and Tom Huddlestone on the mark. They will certainly bring on their key players back for the short travel to the Emirates. Defoe is suspended for this game while Woodgate and Lennon are doubtful. Giovani and Modric will definitely not feature in the squad.

Last time these two teams met in a Premiership match at the Emirates, it ended 4-4 and 1-1 in 2008. Arsenal have a 100% win at the Emirates and could Tottenham go there to break this record?  Expect this derby match to go all crazy with red cards and goals. Arsenal are weak favorites at home against Spurs.

Carling Cup:Arsenal vs. Liverpool

In Carling Cup, Football on October 26, 2009 at 10:40

Another clash between Wenger and Benitez in the League Cup and only one will go through.

Another clash between Wenger and Benitez in the League Cup and only one will go through.

League Cup action this midweek and old foes will be meeting up at the Emirates. Liverpool will travel to North London to meet the Gunners in the League Cup quarterfinals. Both teams have different priorities over the tournament, Arsenal looks toward their youngster to shine and they usually deliver while Liverpool will certainly put on their fringe players after they poor run in both Premier League and Champions League.

If there was one cup that Arsenal have a good chance in every year then it’s surely the League Cup. It’s the way they approach this tournament by using mainly their hungry youngsters who are eagerly to grow up. Their youngsters have sheer quality too and no matter which players Arsene Wenger put on, they will certainly do well for the team. Some key players could be spare on Wednesday, while goal keeper, Almunia, Gibbs, Ramsey, Bendtner and Nasri could be well in the contention to start against Liverpool.

Liverpool ended their 4 consecutive defeats in all competitions by rounding their arch rivals, Manchester United, 2-0 at home last Sunday. It could be a sign of better form to come but Rafa Benitez knows this is certainly one of his least prioritized tournaments and most likely give several key players the night off or at least from the bench. Expect players like Daniel Ngog, Ryan Babel, Aurelio, Dossena, Plessis and Voronin to travel to London. Benitez will do his best with the team available but certainly will not risk his key players, like Gerrard, Torres, Kuyt or Johnsen, just for this tie. Javier Mascherano is suspended for this match.

Arsenal are left frustrated after slipping in West Ham and Alkmaar for not finishing the matches off, settling for a draw in both occasion. Liverpool could well use this weakness to land further progression in this tournament. If Van Persie plays then watch out as his form is excellent, scoring 6 goals in 5 matches. Last time these two teams met in the League cup, Arsenal ran out 6-3 winner at Anfield and expect another high scoring match. Check out Betsson as they are offering Arsenal to win at odds 2.15.

Premier League:West Ham vs. Arsenal

In Barclays Premiership League, Football on October 21, 2009 at 10:36

Arsenal beat West Ham at Upton Park 2-0 last time they met.

Arsenal beat West Ham at Upton Park 2-0 last time they met.

The London derby between West Ham and Arsenal will take place at Upton Park on Sunday afternoon. West Ham does not usually fare well in the local derbies and this might just be up the alley for Arsenal to get their precise three points in the chase of the Premiership title. West Ham are struggling at the bottom of the table and they really need the points to lift themselves up away from the relegation zone.

The East London team are currently 19th in the Premier League and their home form has been the reason why they are at the bottom. They have yet to win at Upton Park and the Hammers have already incurred two defeats and one draw this season at home. Manager Gianfranco Zola might be up for the chop if he doesn’t get his team winning again. Matthew Upson will be ready for the match against Arsenal as he appeared to be punch last Saturday against Stoke by Robert Huth.

Arsenal is currently fourth in the league and looks to claim a spot in the last 16 in the Champions League. Manager Arsene Wenger does his job quietly and definitely better when not under pressure and this show in their results. The Gunners are looking to close the gap between them, Manchester United and Chelsea. They drew 1-1 in Holland in the midweek against AZ Alkmaar. Arsenal will be without their winger Theo Walcott as he is out for four weeks with a damage knee ligament. Nicklas Bendtner and Eduardo are ruled doubtful traveling to Upton Park while Samir Nasri and goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski are continuing their fitness with the reserves. Wenger will be happy to see Tomas Rosicky and Gael Clichy returning to his starting lineup.

The statistic shows that Arsenal are likely to win at Upton Park as they have done this in the past two seasons. The last time West Ham won against Arsenal at home was back in 2006 and with current situation; West Ham looks likely to salvage a point than taking all three. A close match with lots of drama but the score line will be kept to a minimum of one or two goals, so check out Betsson as they are offering Arsenal to win at 1.53.

Premier League:Liverpool vs. Manchester United

Liverpool could be without Gerrard against Manchester United for this Sunday afternoon kickoff

Liverpool could be without Gerrard against Manchester United for this Sunday afternoon kickoff

Liverpool will host their arch rivals, Manchester United, at Anfield this coming Sunday afternoon kickoff. This match could be testing time for Rafa Benitez’s Premiership campaign, as they trail Manchester United 7 point in the Premier League. The reigning champion will return to Anfield knowing that they can put Liverpool out of the title race once and for all.

Liverpool did the double over Manchester United last season and they will need to repeat this feature if they want to get back into the title race. Liverpool beat Manchester 2-1 from a late winner from Ryan Babel and also in the game, Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres started from the bench. This could be the same case on Sunday if both players are not fit in time. Liverpool had a tough time against Lyon in the midweek as they slump to their first four consecutive defeat in 22 years. Rafa Benitez knows the secret in beating his arch rival and this could really be the make it or break it match for him.

Manchester United went back on top of the Premier League, thanks to a Zak Night own goal and Antonio Valencia goal at Old Trafford last weekend against Bolton. Manchester United had goal keeper, Edwin Van der Sar, returning to the starting lineup against Bolton and he could set to feature again against Liverpool. N. Vidic and Wayne Rooney are set to return to the starting line up to travel to Anfield. Sir Alex Ferguson will be hoping to extend their lead in the top of the Premiership by beating their arch rivals.

If you are looking for a tight affair with lots of incident, then you have come to the right place. The matches between Liverpool and Manchester are usually full of incidents, intense atmosphere and lots of mistake. In the end, there are not much of differences between the two teams apart from an individual brilliance our either side. COuld Liverpool end their winning drought or break another record of losing their fifth match in roll?  This could end in a draw and Betsson is offering odds 3.20 for a draw.

Champions League: Real Madrid vs. AC Milan

By Joe, www.Bettingexpert.com

Former AC Milan player, Kaka, could come back haunting his old teammates in the first meeting between Madrid and Milan.

Former AC Milan player, Kaka, could come back haunting his old teammates in the first meeting between Madrid and Milan.

Two of the biggest names in European football will meet at the Santiago Bernabeu for the first back to back encounter between Real Madrid and AC Milan. Both teams have won this competition with a total of 16 European Champions Clubs Cup triumphs between them. Milan will travel to Madrid in search to challenge for a top spot in Group C.

Madrid have been busy buying players this preseason and two of the world’s best players have settled into the Madrid squad with ease. Cristano Ronaldo and Kaka have been scoring goals for Madrid and they look like a formidable opponent at any given day. Their defense is a bit shaky but their attacking forces compensate their mistakes at the back, like in their weekend 4-2 win against Valladolid.  Kaka will be looking forward to play against his former team mates and fans. Guti and Ronaldo are ruled doubtful to face Milan while Fernando Gago, Christoph Metzelder and Ruud Van Nistelrooy are out injured.

Milan is struggling in Serie A and that could transpire to their Champions League campaign. They suffered a home defeat to FC Zurich in the last round and that has made Group E wide open to compete for the second spot to qualify for the last 16. The departure of Kaka has really affected the team as other Brazilian players, Ronaldinho and Pato, have not shown their worth yet. They travel to Madrid knowing that things are against them and Coach Leonardo will need at least a point in Madrid to salvage their pride.

Real Madrid are favorites against Milan. They have come out on top in nine out of the eleven occasions in the Santiago Bernabeu. The last affair ended with a 3-1 win to Madrid back in 2002/03 where Raul scored twice. Kaka could haunt his former team so check out Betsson as they are offering 1.45 for a Madrid win.

Fulham and Brede Hangeland will be hoping to keep a clean sheet against Hull City.

Fulham and Brede Hangeland will be hoping to keep a clean sheet against Hull City.

Monday night at Craven Cottage will see Fulham face fellow premiership strugglers, Hull City, visiting London. Both teams are in a need for points as they are currently stuck at the bottom half of the Premier League. A winner here would definitely pull either club out of the dangers of the relegation zone and Fulham look favorable here.

Roy Hodgson’s men are set to help the club to celebrate their 130th anniversary by beating Hull City on Monday night. Fulham have a solid defense and plays in a strict traditional 4-4-2 formation. Their attacking drive will come from Danny Murphy and Clinton Dempsey to feed the striker, Andrew Johnson, who is still searching to find his form. Hodgson will be without suspended Kagisho Dikagcoi as he will start his three match ban suspension and Simon Davis is ruled doubtful. Irish winger, Damien Duff, returns to the squad from a calf injury.

The Tigers will hope that the international break has helped them to regroup and find their mentality to cope with the upcoming matches. They have been struggling and currently placed 18th in the Premiership, just on the wrong end of the relegation line. Coach Phil Brown will hope that their fortune with change with Jimmy Bullard and Anthony Gardner returning to the squad from injuries. Hull with be without Cooper (hamstring), Ashbee and Garcia, both sustaining knee injuries.

Fulham did the double over Hull last season and that something Roy Hodgson knows he has to repeat if he wants to avoid the relegation dog fight. Hull City have not won an away game since they encounter against West Bromwich Albion back in October 2008. They also conceded ten goals in their last two away game and Fulham could set to take advantage of the situation. Check out Betsson is offering Fulham to win at 1.70.

Serie A: Milan vs. Roma

By Joe, www.Bettingexpert.com

Ronaldinho and Milan needs the 3 points or else they might be dragging themselves into the relegation dog fight.

Ronaldinho and Milan needs the 3 points or else they might be dragging themselves into the relegation dog fight.

Hopefully the International Break has given AC Milan and Coach Leonardo enough time to regroup and work a few things out after their dismayed run of results in the Serie A. The red and black half of Milano will be contesting against capital club, Roma, in the Sunday late evening match at the San Siro.

Milan is in the building period under Leonardo’s helm. However, it has not gone the way that the board has wished for nor in Leonardo’s eye as they are placed 12th in the Serie A. Milan have been disappointing at home. They lost already twice at home, drew three times and only registering two win in seven home games. The last time Milan hosted at home, they drew 0-0 to Bari and were booed by their home fans. Leonardo will be calling up his Brazilian stars, Ronaldinho and Pato to shine against Roma. David Beckham is set to return to Milan for his second spell with the club.

Roma have had a good run under new coach Claudio Ranieri. He is undefeated and won three of their last five games in the Serie A. They are currently eighth in the league and looking to challenge for a Champions League for next year. The question mark will be around Francesco Totti whether he will be fit to travel to Milan with his team mates. Ranieri will not hesitate in deploying his winning 4-4-2 formation as that has worked for him in the past.

Hard to believe but Roma are favorites against Milan. They won this tie last year with a 3-2 win and this time around, the Giallorossi is full of confidence. Milan might struggle against Roma but a draw could be an option out. Check out Betsson as they are offering 3.25 for a draw in the San Siro.

Premier League: Aston Villa vs. Chelsea

Villa will battle it out at Villa Park for the precious three points against Chelsea.

Villa will battle it out at Villa Park for the precious three points against Chelsea.

The International fixtures saw both teams saw many of their key members scattered around the World to comply with their International duties.  Now that all the players are back, they have to prepare for the early Saturday kickoff at Villa Park. Aston Villa will need to put on their fight spirits in order to dispose a well all round Chelsea team.

Coach Martin O’Neill do need to assemble his men and grind out a win here if he wants to even contemplate on challenging for a Champions League spot next year. There have been rumors that England international, Emilie Heskey, might be leaving Aston Villa. Heskey has turn around and put the record straight in that he will be honoring his contract.  He will be fighting for a spot in the starting lineup with Gabriel Agbonlahor and John Carew. Davis and Stewart Downing are still injured.

Chelsea travels to Villa Park in search to extend their lead in the top of the Premiership. Chelsea will be without goal keeper, Petr Cech, as he is still serving his suspension. Coach Carlo Ancelotti will have to call on Hilario once again to guard the goal. During the international break, the Italian coach also secured both Brazilian Alex and Salomon Kalou for another 3 more years of their service with the West London club. Michael Ballack and Mikel are out injuried while Boswinga is doubtful to travel to Villa.

Aston Villa and Chelsea have in the past 3 years drawn more at Villa Park than finding a winner. Last season, Chelsea prevailed with a Nicolas Anelka 19th minute winner and surely the Villains would not want this to happen. Chelsea Ancelotti will certainly play a passive game and get Villa to concede the mistakes during their build up. Physically Villa will match Chelsea so a draw could be on the menu, check out Betsson as they are offering odds at 3.30 for a draw.
