Lyon is in the driving seat of the Champions League Group E followed by both Fiorentina and Liverpool, three points behind them. They beat both Fiorentina and Debreceni in their first two matches and could be on the verge to win the group if they beat Liverpool. Lyon lost 2-0 at home to Sochaux last weekend.
Two of the top sides in Europe will meet at ANfield for the first time and this one will be a tight affair. Liverpool will need Gerrard or Torres to return to the starting line up to be in a shout of a win at home. Lyon have nothing to lose and so they will do what they do best, attack.
