Premier League: Liverpool vs. Arsenal

In Barclays Premiership League, Football on December 10, 2009 at 08:50

By Joe, www.Bettingexpert.com

The battle of the best midfielders in England will meet on Sunday at Anfield

One of the big ties this weekend in the Premiership and Liverpool will be hosting Arsenal at Anfield Sunday afternoon.  Liverpool are struggling to live up to their name of being one of the Big 4 this season, on the other hand Arsenal is having some injuries issue after start well in the Premier League. Loser of this match could spell the end to the title spur this season.

Liverpool are desperate for three points and with a squad close to full strength again, manager Rafa Benitez could be in for a chance to get his team back on the Premiership campaign. Benitez gave Italian midfielder Alberto Aquilani his full debut in the midweek  2-1 defeated against Fiorentina. He rested Jose Reina and Lucas while Fernando Torres returned from injury by sitting on the bench. It’s no surprise that Liverpool’s main focus will be the Premiership and the match against Arsenal will prove whether they are capable in returning to the top of the Premier League

Arsenal are hanging by the thread with their injury crisis as they prepare their trip to Anfield. The Gunners travelled to Olympiakos and lost 1-0 in the midweek Champions League tie without several of their key players, only Theo Walcott was name as one of the senior members of the 10 teenagers selected. The kids managed to put out a good performance and you might wonder where they will be in a few years time. Manger Arsene Wenger is already suffering from 9 injuries to his first team squad and Tomas Rosicky is the latest name on the list. It will be a taunting task for Arsenal facing one of their main rivals in the League with a depleted team.

As Liverpool crashed out of the Champions League this midweek while Arsenal emerges victory over the rivals in the European campaign this season. Arsenal will also claim victory over Liverpool in the Premiership standing and also in the Carling Cup 2-1 win back in late October. Although, things are set to change, Liverpool have their strongest players back from injuries while Arsenal are losing their players to injuries left and right. Maybe Arsenal have been the strongest lately but Liverpool looks likely to win at all cost on Sunday.

Premier League: Everton vs. Tottenham

In Barclays Premiership League, Football on December 3, 2009 at 10:13

By Joe, www.Bettingexpert.com

Everton and Tottenham will tug it out at Goodison Park for the vital three points.

This match is classed as a top versus bottom clash in the Premiership. Not many people would have predicted that Everton would be classed as one of the bottom side this season. At the beginning of the season, both teams put their goals to challenge for a Champions League but only Tottenham have successfully kept their word. Everton are desperate for the 3 points in order to escape the relegation battle.

www.Bettingexpert.com

Everton slipped further into bottom half of the Premiership after being defeated 2-0 by their neighbor, Liverpool, last weekend at Goodison Park. The good news is that, Everton qualified for the last 32 in the Europa League which means they can concentrate on their form in the Premiership. Bad news is that Jo, Sylvain Distin and Dan Gosling will require treatment as they all went off injured against AEK Athens. All are doubtful to face Spurs. Joseph Yobo and Leon Osman are doubtful against Tottenham as he did not travel to Greece in the midweek. Lucas Neill and John Heitinga could be back in starting lineup after being ineligible against AEK Athens.

Tottenham crashed out of the Carling Cup in the midweek against Manchester United after being soundly defeated 2-0 at Old Trafford. Manager Harry Redknap p has since then come out with the comment of confirming that the Premier League is their main priority all along, even though they had a strong starting eleven against Man U. Never the less, Redkanpp will set his eyes on cementing their third spot in the Premiership and a performance against Everton will help his cause to keep tab with the top of the league.

www.Bettingexpert.com

Everton are struggling mainly due to their injuries to Phil Neville, Mikel Arteta, Phil Jagielka, Victor Anichebe and James Vaughan. They are thin at the central defense and many of the players are playing out of their position in order to cover for the rest. If Everton can give the same enthusiasm and determination they showed against Liverpool last week then it will be a matter of time the result will come David Moyes’s way. Spurs are not to be underestimate but their last second away games from home finished in a defeat for the London team.

Premier League: Everton vs. Liverpool

In Barclays Premiership League, Football on November 25, 2009 at 11:06

By Joe, www.Bettingexpert.com

Since the arrival of Fernando Torres to Liverpool, Everton fans have dreaded to see the Liverpool topscorer banging in goal at Goodison Park.

All the important matches are coming thick and thin for Liverpool as fight another day in the Premiership against their bitter rivals, Everton. The Merseyside derby is usually a pretty much heat affair with the Red side of Liverpool claiming an advantage when it comes to the Premier League matches. Both teams will do their best in order to get one over the other in the league.

Everton will have to go all the way back to 2006 to find a victory over Liverpool in the Premiership. That day they record a 3-0 win over Liverpool where Tim Cahill and Andrew Johnson were on target. Although, David Moyes will want to remember their recent 1-0 after extra time in the FA Cup last season as the benchmark going into this game. The Toffee manager will be with Phil Neville, Mikel Arteta, Phil Jagielka, Victor Anichebe, James Vaughan and Leon Osman. Fellaini & Bilyaletdinov will return back to the squad after serving a one match suspension against Hull.

Liverpool are going through rough times and maybe the game against their neighbors might have come a bit early. Manager Rafa Benitez will find it hard to keep his job if he loses to Everton and fall even more behind from a Champions League spot next season. They were dumped out of the Champions League in the midweek even though they beat Debreceni 1-0 away. Benitez will be hoping that Fernando Torres will return to the starting lineup after 3 weeks off with an ankle injury. Ryan Babel and Albert Riera are ruled doubtful to face Everton.

Don’t expect pretty football when these two teams meet on Sunday. We will be lucky if we will see some good football played at Goodison Park, it is more likely that yellow and red cards will be flying around instead. It will be a physical affair as both teams are desperate for three points while not for filling their potential.

Champions League: Debreceni vs. Liverpool

In Champions League, Football on November 21, 2009 at 22:05

By Joe, www.Bettingexpert.com

Liverpool will want the ball and they will anything just to get it on Tuesday.

The penultimate round of the Champions League group stage will see Liverpool travel to Budapest to face Hungarian champion, Debreceni. The venue is set to be played in the Stadium Puskas Ferenc, Budapest as Debreceni opt to play their Champions League in the biggest stadium in Hungary. Debreceni’s hope of qualifying for the next round and even for the UEFA Europa League have dashed but Liverpool’s chance for the last 16 is on thin ice.

The home side has struggled in their debut year in the Champions League. They are currently sitting firmly at the bottom of Group E with zero points. They have lost all their matches so far and they will be looking to register their first points in the next two matches. The Hungarian champion has let in on an average of 4 goals when hosting a European team, they are hoping that they will be able to improve their defensive record and tighten up the back 4. With only pride to play for, Debreceni will still make Liverpool work for their points.

If Liverpool wants to stay in this competition then they need win against Debreceni while Lyon doing them a favor against Fiorentina. Rafa Benitez has guided Liverpool into the last 16 in five occasions but this is the first time the Merseyside team’s fate is not in their hands. The Spaniard will need all the firepower he can get from his key players like Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres and Glen Johnson. Both Johnson and Torres were not fit in the weekend 2-2 draw against Manchester City. Liverpool travels to Hungary in hope to escape early elimination with one ear on the score from Florence while playing to win in Budapest. Torres has not traveled with Liverpool to Budapest.

Liverpool are favorites against Debreceni as it is a must win match for them. They could end up playing in the Europa League next year or Champions League and we all know Liverpool would choose the prestige tournament, Champions League, as they are five times winners. Dirk Kuyt scored the only goal in the first ever meeting between Liverpool and Debreceni in Match day 1. The Dutchman will have to find his shooting boots out again if Liverpool stands a chance to qualify.

Premier League: Liverpool vs. Manchester City

In Barclays Premiership League, Football on November 17, 2009 at 14:28

By Joe, www.Bettingexpert.com

Torres could set to return to face Manchester City in Anfield. The Spaniard would not mind scoring against City again.

Liverpool could not have asked a better time for the International break to intervene as their squad is struggling to knock off injuries and a string of disappointing results. They were the last Premiership team to play a game a fortnight ago and now they will have the honor to start the Premiership fixture as they face Manchester City at Anfield in a Saturday early afternoon kickoff. Both teams are in search for the three points to keep up with Chelsea at the top of the table.

Manager Rafa Benitez must be pinching himself just to make sure whether the injuries crisis situation with his squad is real. He lost Yossi Benayoun and Albert Riera for there to four week after getting injured in the 2-2 draw against Birmingham. Steven Gerrard made a comeback that night and he is expected to return against Manchester City. There is some doubts over Glen Johnsen, Daniel Agger and Fernando Torres as all of them have withdrew from national duties to nurse their injury. Jamie Carragher will return from his suspension and Fabio Aurelio is still out injured. Every game for Liverpool will be a FA cup feel to it as they trail league leaders, Chelsea, by 10 points. Benitez will have to come up with the good against Manchester City or else the next year’s Champions League spot could also be in danger.

Manchester City have drawn four of their last premiership matches and they could continue this streak at Anfield Road this Saturday. Manager Mark Hughes will look to change this trend City have embarked on. Their last match against Burnley revealed their defense loses concentration and marginal defensive errors which cost hem the victory. Hughes is hoping that star player Robinho could return to first team action and if not, there will be many others prepared to take his place. Martin Petrov, Craig Bellamy, Robinho, Nedum Onuoha and Benjani are all ruled out.

Liverpool looks more and more desperate each time they go on the field. Hopefully the Reds will be able to put out their strongest team to regain their last season’s good form. Manchester City will not worry too much of the issue Liverpool is dealing with, they will focus on their play and try to continue their quest in breaking into the big 4 domination in the Premiership. A win for either team could get their season on the way. Liverpool looks likely to fight for their lives to keep their hopes up.

Premier League: Liverpool vs. Birmingham

In Football on November 6, 2009 at 19:00

By Joe, www.Bettingexpert.com

Can Rafa ride out the storm at Anfield Road against Birmingham?

Liverpool are praying for a miracle in both domestic and European competitions already in November. They are currently 9 points behind Premiership leader, Chelsea, and while their Champions League campaign fate is not in their hands anymore. November month could put further misery to Liverpool’s current situation and Birmingham could not have ask a better time to travel to Anfield Road.

Manager Rafa Benitez is feeling the pressure and nothing but a win will assure the fans and board to keep fate in him. Liverpool have lost their captain, Steven Gerrard, through a groin injury, while Albert Reira (hamstring) and Glen Johnson (calf) are still out. Benitez is so desperate to keep Fernando Torres fit but it seems that he might be out for three weeks. Martin Skrtel could return against Birmingham to pair up with Daniel Agger in the heart of the defense. Vice captain, Jamie Carragher and Phillip Degen are suspended.

Birmingham shares some similar situation with Liverpool regarding the injuries and suspension issue. They will have to travel to Anfield Road without Barry Ferguson as he got red card last week while Garry O’Connor, Keith Fahey, Temmu Tanio and Martin Taylor are all ruled doubtful. Goal keeper, Joe Hart, could be on the verge to regain his first team spot after being ineligible to face his parent club, Manchester City, in a 0-0 draw last Sunday. Alex McLeish will have to choose his team wisely as this is a golden chance for him to pour salt on Liverpool’s wound.

Birmingham have a good record against Liverpool in the Premier League, they managed to win twice and drawn four game in the past three seasons. We have to go all the way to 2004 to find a Liverpool victory at Anfield against the Birmingham. It all really depends whether Torres will be risked or not for Liverpool, he is their main man and if he is not there, then it’s like sending a team out for the League Cup. Birmingham have just scored eight league goals and that could be the deciding factor whether they win or lose the match. Liverpool will force the agenda on Monday night.

Carling Cup:Arsenal vs. Liverpool

In Carling Cup, Football on October 26, 2009 at 10:40

By Joe, www.Bettingexpert.com

Another clash between Wenger and Benitez in the League Cup and only one will go through.

Another clash between Wenger and Benitez in the League Cup and only one will go through.

League Cup action this midweek and old foes will be meeting up at the Emirates. Liverpool will travel to North London to meet the Gunners in the League Cup quarterfinals. Both teams have different priorities over the tournament, Arsenal looks toward their youngster to shine and they usually deliver while Liverpool will certainly put on their fringe players after they poor run in both Premier League and Champions League.

If there was one cup that Arsenal have a good chance in every year then it’s surely the League Cup. It’s the way they approach this tournament by using mainly their hungry youngsters who are eagerly to grow up. Their youngsters have sheer quality too and no matter which players Arsene Wenger put on, they will certainly do well for the team. Some key players could be spare on Wednesday, while goal keeper, Almunia, Gibbs, Ramsey, Bendtner and Nasri could be well in the contention to start against Liverpool.

Liverpool ended their 4 consecutive defeats in all competitions by rounding their arch rivals, Manchester United, 2-0 at home last Sunday. It could be a sign of better form to come but Rafa Benitez knows this is certainly one of his least prioritized tournaments and most likely give several key players the night off or at least from the bench. Expect players like Daniel Ngog, Ryan Babel, Aurelio, Dossena, Plessis and Voronin to travel to London. Benitez will do his best with the team available but certainly will not risk his key players, like Gerrard, Torres, Kuyt or Johnsen, just for this tie. Javier Mascherano is suspended for this match.

Arsenal are left frustrated after slipping in West Ham and Alkmaar for not finishing the matches off, settling for a draw in both occasion. Liverpool could well use this weakness to land further progression in this tournament. If Van Persie plays then watch out as his form is excellent, scoring 6 goals in 5 matches. Last time these two teams met in the League cup, Arsenal ran out 6-3 winner at Anfield and expect another high scoring match. Check out Betsson as they are offering Arsenal to win at odds 2.15.

Premier League:Liverpool vs. Manchester United

Liverpool could be without Gerrard against Manchester United for this Sunday afternoon kickoff

Liverpool could be without Gerrard against Manchester United for this Sunday afternoon kickoff

Liverpool will host their arch rivals, Manchester United, at Anfield this coming Sunday afternoon kickoff. This match could be testing time for Rafa Benitez’s Premiership campaign, as they trail Manchester United 7 point in the Premier League. The reigning champion will return to Anfield knowing that they can put Liverpool out of the title race once and for all.

Liverpool did the double over Manchester United last season and they will need to repeat this feature if they want to get back into the title race. Liverpool beat Manchester 2-1 from a late winner from Ryan Babel and also in the game, Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres started from the bench. This could be the same case on Sunday if both players are not fit in time. Liverpool had a tough time against Lyon in the midweek as they slump to their first four consecutive defeat in 22 years. Rafa Benitez knows the secret in beating his arch rival and this could really be the make it or break it match for him.

Manchester United went back on top of the Premier League, thanks to a Zak Night own goal and Antonio Valencia goal at Old Trafford last weekend against Bolton. Manchester United had goal keeper, Edwin Van der Sar, returning to the starting lineup against Bolton and he could set to feature again against Liverpool. N. Vidic and Wayne Rooney are set to return to the starting line up to travel to Anfield. Sir Alex Ferguson will be hoping to extend their lead in the top of the Premiership by beating their arch rivals.

If you are looking for a tight affair with lots of incident, then you have come to the right place. The matches between Liverpool and Manchester are usually full of incidents, intense atmosphere and lots of mistake. In the end, there are not much of differences between the two teams apart from an individual brilliance our either side. COuld Liverpool end their winning drought or break another record of losing their fifth match in roll?  This could end in a draw and Betsson is offering odds 3.20 for a draw.

Premier League: Chelsea vs Liverpool

In Barclays Premiership League, Football on October 1, 2009 at 12:52

One of the best strikers and defender in the Premiership will go haed to head this weekend. Who will come out on top?

One of the best strikers and defender in the Premiership will go haed to head this weekend. Who will come out on top?

Two contenders for the Premier League title and both sides are also gunning for the Champions League trophy too. Liverpool in the past have dominated the ties in the Champions League match up while Chelsea have the upper hand in the Premier League. However, last season, things changed, Liverpool beat Chelsea twice both home and away in the Premiership, while Chelsea knockout Liverpool in the Champions League quarterfinals.

Chelsea ended their six consecutive victories in the Premiership at Wigan last week with a 3-1 defeat. That match revealed that Chelsea have vulnerable moments in the defense and that was fixed against Apoel Nicosia with a 1-0 away in the Champions League. Both matches showed that Chelsea did not play their best and Italian Coach Carlo Ancelotti will make sure they put out their best against Liverpool. Chelsea will be without goal keeper, Petr Cech, as he will start serving his three match suspension.

Rafa Benitez needs a reaction from his squad after losing 2-0 in their Champions League match against Fiorentina away from home in the midweek. It was Liverpool’s worse outing for some time and it was something that Benitez angered ahead of the titanic clash on Sunday. The reds made one change in the midweek where Albert Riera replaced by Brazilian Fabio Aurelio in the starting lineup. Javier Mascherano pulled his hamstring in the midweek and is ruled doubtful traveling to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea and Liverpool faces each other more than just the two scheduled matches in the Premiership, they are usually paired up in the latter stages in the Champions League or one of the English domestic cups. So both teams know each other inside out and this will certainly be a tight affair. Rafa Benitez have never beaten Ancoletti in the 90 minutes and that could prove a bit of a disadvantage for the away team.  Check out Betsson as they are offering odds at 3.20 for a draw.

Premier League:Liverpool vs. Hull City

In Barclays Premiership League, Football on September 23, 2009 at 19:11

Steven Gerrard came to the rescue last time Liverpool played Hull City at Anfield. Will the captain win it for the Reds this time?

Steven Gerrard came to the rescue last time Liverpool played Hull City at Anfield. Will the captain win it for the Reds this time?

After the home defeat to Aston Villa one month ago, Liverpool have gone strengthen to strengthen. Captain Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres, Ryan Babel and Dirk Kuyt have turned their game up and produced the results that Coach Rafa Benitez wanted. They will host Hull City at Anfield Road and looks surely to make it their sixth consecutive win in a roll.

Rafa Benitez made 9 changes in their midweek 1-0 win in the League Cup against Leeds United. The game didn’t end without some controversial as Javier Mascherano was caught on TV elbowing a Leeds player in the 2nd half. The Argentinean will be subject to a FA investigation and his place against Hull City looks doubtful. Both Gerrard and Torres started on the bench against Leeds and they look most certainly rested for the Premier league game.  Danish defender Daniel Agger is training with the squad again and could play a role sometime in the near future.

The Tigers made nine changes in the midweek’s heavy defeat to Everton, in the League Cup, from the side that lost to Birmingham last Saturday. Kamil Zayatte and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink were the two players that retained their places in the starting lineup. This year, Hull have started their campaign in poor form and looking likely to play a part in the relegation battle. Coach Phil Brown has been busy in the transfer market but seemingly finding it hard to get his players gel together. They are currently 19th in the league and they really need to get their defensive marking up a notch.

Things are going well for Liverpool and it will take a lot of hard work if any teams want to claim any points at Anfield. The last time the two teams faced each other in Anfield ended 2-2 and could the Tigers land themselves another good result? Liverpool will get the better of Hull and Betsson is offering Liverpool at 1.18 for a win.
