Everton and Tottenham will tug it out at Goodison Park for the vital three points.

This match is classed as a top versus bottom clash in the Premiership. Not many people would have predicted that Everton would be classed as one of the bottom side this season. At the beginning of the season, both teams put their goals to challenge for a Champions League but only Tottenham have successfully kept their word. Everton are desperate for the 3 points in order to escape the relegation battle.

Everton slipped further into bottom half of the Premiership after being defeated 2-0 by their neighbor, Liverpool, last weekend at Goodison Park. The good news is that, Everton qualified for the last 32 in the Europa League which means they can concentrate on their form in the Premiership. Bad news is that Jo, Sylvain Distin and Dan Gosling will require treatment as they all went off injured against AEK Athens. All are doubtful to face Spurs. Joseph Yobo and Leon Osman are doubtful against Tottenham as he did not travel to Greece in the midweek. Lucas Neill and John Heitinga could be back in starting lineup after being ineligible against AEK Athens.

Tottenham crashed out of the Carling Cup in the midweek against Manchester United after being soundly defeated 2-0 at Old Trafford. Manager Harry Redknap p has since then come out with the comment of confirming that the Premier League is their main priority all along, even though they had a strong starting eleven against Man U. Never the less, Redkanpp will set his eyes on cementing their third spot in the Premiership and a performance against Everton will help his cause to keep tab with the top of the league.

Everton are struggling mainly due to their injuries to Phil Neville, Mikel Arteta, Phil Jagielka, Victor Anichebe and James Vaughan. They are thin at the central defense and many of the players are playing out of their position in order to cover for the rest. If Everton can give the same enthusiasm and determination they showed against Liverpool last week then it will be a matter of time the result will come David Moyes’s way. Spurs are not to be underestimate but their last second away games from home finished in a defeat for the London team.
