Liverpool vs. Tottenham

Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres Liverpool

Liverpool will be ending this season with a positive outcome for next. For the first time since 1990, They have managed to seriously mount a title challenge for this season and. Although, this is another trophyless season, it could be beneficial for them in a long run as their chances of winning their 19th league title looks likely to be around just the corner. All Liverpool fans will be looking forward to next season.

Rafa Benitez will sign off at Anfield in a high note with a victory over Spurs. They will entertain the Anfield crowd with goals and a mixture of attacking football. This has been a Liverpool team that has scored over 200 goals in 2 seasons, so gone with those days that Liverpool is a defensive team. This will be an open game against Spurs as nothing is on stake. Sami Hyppia might get some playing minutes against Spurs as this will be his final game for the Reds. He has served 10 years for the club and will be moving on to Leverkusen next season.

Roy Keane returns to Anfield after a short stint in a Liverpool shirt. This time, he will be bearing a Tottenham Hotspur shirt and leading their attack. Under Harry Redknapp, Spurs have found a bit of stability and has concentrated more on the attacking football. The start of the season did not go as well with them but Redknapp took them out from a crisis standpoint to a mid table team preparing for next season. There will be changes at Spurs during the preseason and it will come without any surprise as the board will demand for a European spot next year. Redknapp travels to Anfield without Michael Dawson (ankle), Aaron Lennon (groin), Tom Huddlestone (knee) and Jamie O’Hara (knee) while Wilson Palacios is on compassion leave. Jonathan Woodgate (groin) and Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee) will face a late fitness tests

Liverpool to beat Spurs at Anfield with Gerrard and Torres in the starting lineup, what else can go wrong. Liverpool is also looking for another clean sheet so that Pepe Reina can tally his clean sheets up to 20 this season. Look out for Ladbrokes as they are offering a home win at 1.53.

Tottenham vs. Newcastle

Will he be smiling after the game against Tottenham?

Welcome to my first soccer picks blog which is associated with the Betting expert team to bring you all the many betting tipsters pick to one website. My very first blog will feature the English Premier League where Newcastle will travel to White Hart Lane in search for 3 points , hoping that it will to take them out from the relegation. This will not be a pretty game for Newcastle as they are certainly not there to play sexy football anymore as survival is the priority.

So where does Tottenham fit in then? Well, simply they are rebuilding for next season and Spurs are looking up the table rather than looking down. Spurs Manager Harry Redknapp will be pointing out the weakness at the back as he has not really found the right formula in keeping a clean sheet. A bit of Tony Adams could help the boys in white but as he was the captain of the Arsenal in the 90s, this might not go well with the Spurs hardcore. So what then? If you cannot defend, you probably have to outscore the opponent and that is the department Redknapp is not lacking. Jermaine Defoe is back in contention against Newcastle who might replace Roman Pavlyuchenko suffering from a back injury. Robbie Keane and Darren Bent are ready to step into the limelight to support Defoe after a fracture foot, sidelining him for 10 weeks. Redknapp will have the service of Wilson Palacios after serving a one match suspension and might replace Jermaine Jenas as he is suffering from a recurring hamstring during last weekend match against West Ham. Alan Hutton is available for selection and this gives plenty of option for Redknapp to manage his tactics right for the day.

Fighting for their lives, Newcastle will simply have to throw their bodies into the goals or anything that is possible if they are to remain in the Primer League next season. Alan Shearer will be the one to mastermind this great escape and he kind of did that against Stoke last weekend. With 25 minutes remaining he made one substitution that changed Newcastle from getting one point to bring back St. James Park. That one point gave Newcastle a major lift and could be the turning point this season. Shearer might well be asking Obefami Martins whose in pain after suffering from groin trouble again to play against Tottenham. Jose Enrique is doubtful while Michael Owen and Mark Viduka returns to the team and hopefully both will put themselves on the scoring sheet on Sunday. Whatever the result will be, Shearer will want more passion and fight in his team and that does not go out with a saying that a point back to the North wouldn’t be a nice addition.

Things are changing at Newcastle. New Manager, away points, huge fans support and the support the board too, only one person can do it and his name is Shearer. We all know this sport is cruel and only the winners will stay on or will be remembered. In my opinion, Shearer might well be remembered as a good coach, his team will turn things around and maybe a draw here will not be that impossible. Bet365 is offering odds 3.60 so take it while you can.
