Roma, with their new coach Claudio Ranieri, will test their strength against Fiorentinat the Stadio Olimpico. Both teams had played their respective midweek European football away from home which could spell a few changes or tired legs in this 4th round tie. Roma are weak favorites to notch another 3 points to their account.
The three times Serie A winner have not started out well in the domestic 2009/10 campaign. Out of the first three games played, Roma got their first points of the season last weekend as they won it late with a Jon Arne Riise free kick that made it 2-1 with a few minutes left to go in the game against Siena. Their midweek European match against Basel ended with a draw. Ranieri will probably start with captain Totti and Vucinic upfront.
Fiorentina have not been in such high places ever since Gabriel Batistuta left the club, things are up as they are playing in the Champions League and competing in the top half of the Serie A. Their recent defeat to Lyon in the Champions League was one of their first defeats in the season as they are unbeaten in the domestic league with 2 wins and a draw. The team is winning games because of Alberto Gilardino brilliance and one to keep an eye on this Sunday evening, despite his straight red card in the midweek for using his elbow in an aerial challenge. Fiorentina will without one of their key front man, Adrian Mutu.
Statistically seen, Roma looks to be on top of Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico. This will be a tight affair and one small incident can change the course of the match. Fiorentina is in form while Roma is looking to find themselves, a draw would suit both teams. Check out Betsson as they are offering 3.35 for a draw.
