Roddick Federer wimbledon final

The Wimbledon Mens Final will be a titanic battle between Roger Federer and Andy Roddick on Sunday’s Center Court at SW19. Roger Federer has to be hot favorites to win his sixth Grand Slam Wimbledon final. He is on course to record his 15th Grand Slam title after beating Tommy Hass in the Wimbledon Semifinals. This will be Andy Roddick’s third final at Wimbledon but he has yet to win the Wimbledon trophy.

World number 2, Roger Federer is the man to beat. He is a grass court specialist and he also recently won the French Open.  Five-times Wimbledon champion Roger Federer has easily brushed away his opponents en route to the final. He disposed Robin Soderling (French Open Finalist), ace server Ivo Karlovic and German Tommy Hass in the semifinals. Federer is really on form as he has only dropped one set game to Philip Koschreiber in the 3rd Round in this tournament. He has also beaten Andy Roddick twice in the 2004 and 2005 Wimbledon Final.

Andy Roddick, World number 6, has surprised a few by reaching the Wimbledon finals after starting out with an outside chance to win the tournament. He did his business quietly and professionally in his route to the final. Andy Roddick played one of his best matches of his career against Andy Murray in the semifinals. The game lasted 3 hours and seven minutes where Roddick edged out Murray with a 6-4 4-6 7-6 (9-7) 7-6 (7-5) win. Roddick served so well that Murray had no answers for and Roddick abandoned the much anticipated aggressive net play. He chose to play against Murray with his baseline tactics and that gave dividends. Andy Roddick will face Federer once again in a Wimbledon finals and this time he hopes it is third time lucky.

Federer is simply one of the best players that have stepped onto the Wimbledon Center Court grass. On Sunday, he will be more than ready to face Andy Roddick. Roddick’s secret weapon is his powerful serve and if he wants to beat Federer then he will have to play once again up to his best or otherwise it could be in for a straight set defeat. Federer looks certainly to win his sixth Wimbledon title and Ladbrokes is offering Roger Federer at odds 1.12.
