By Joe,

Depending on the result of the Manchester United vs. Arsenal game at Old Trafford on Saturday noon’s kickoff, this matchup can be either a decider for the title and West Brom status in the Premiership. Both teams are relying on other teams in the league to do them favors. West Brom need Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Hull City to lose this weekend to have any chance of avoiding the Championship. Liverpool need Arsenal to win at Old Trafford to reignite their chance in winning their 19th title.

West Brom has won and scored six goals in the last couple of home games. This is very impressive but maybe a bit too late as they are still at the bottom of the table. If they are to go down, then they are not going down quietly. With 2 games to go, it is very hard to see how West Brom will get out of this one. They need to win two games and hope the rest will faltered too. That is like asking Arsenal team to win the title. West Brom will be without James Morrison and Abdoulaye Meite due to injuries. Garham Dorran and Scott Carson will be pushing for a starting line up to help West Brom to fight the relegation drop.

Rafa Benitez will travel to West Brom with high spirits and with players in their good playing form. This week, Liverpool has seen their captain Steven Gerrard received the Writers’ association Footballer of the Year Award. Gerrard might be continuing his great form against West Brom and push Liverpool forward for next season’s Premiership title. Benitez will have Xabi Alonso available again. Torres had a little bit of scare with his occurring hamstring problem but he will be available. Javier Mascherano is fit to be included into the starting lineup. This game might be one of the last games for Sami Hyppia will be playing in a Liverpool shirt. If not the last game, his last away game for sure.

The Baggies has not beaten Liverpool for over 28 years. Last time these two teams met at Anfield, it ended with a 3-0 defeat to West Brom back in November. A repeat of this score line could pop up again this Sunday. Liverpool has scored more than 2 goals for the last 5 games so what do you think that will stop Liverpool for this general pattern? Not many will go against Liverpool on this one so have a look at Ladbrokes who is offering an away win at 1.40. Goodluck!
