By Joe,

The countdown begins, the season is nearing to an end and Wigan takes on Manchester United. After Manchester United winning against Manchester City this weekend, with 3 more games in hand and 3 points ahead of Liverpool it is seemingly that the title is under their belt but Liverpool is still contending the title and has not put up the towel yet. Manchester just needs 4 points to secure the title and Wigan will be the first opponent in the final 2 weeks of the season. Wigan Athletic is seating comfortably in the mid-table and will not be going down to the Championship.

This tie has been one of those postponed games from earlier this season when Manchester United had to rearrange games due to their busy FA cup, League cup and Champions League ties. They have been winning 6 games in a roll and are currently in good form that it is no secret that Wigan could be one of the easiest tie out of the 3 games left as the title is at stake. Captain Rio Ferdinand (calf and Jonny Evans (hamstring) are doubtful. Paul Scholes, Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney are set to be recalled while Ronaldo, Roony, Tevez, Giggs and Berbatov available on the day.

Wigan will be hosting Manchester on a Wednesday evening at the JJB stadium in hope to put a brave performance. Despite Wigan losing against Hull (3-1) in an away game they are far off from relegation. The stakes are not high and the Latics will only play for pride. Manager Steve Bruce will try to salvage whatever he can and would love to be the one stopping his former boss having the title. Wigan will be without striker Amr Zaki (knee injury) and could be without goalkeeper Chris Kirkland as he injured himself during the weekend tie against West Brom. Kingston who replaced Kirkland did well and could be called up on the night. Rodallega will wow the home fans with his trickery skills and maybe we could see top scorer Zaki play in a rare outing.

Manchester United to trounce Wigan at JJB stadium? That looks likely at this stage of the season. Manchester United might not have played well in the last few games but they have got the result that they needed. The final days will be an exciting game to watch. Manchester United just need to secure 4 points to wrap up the title for this season. Let’s see if Manchester United will win at JJB, mybet is offering a draw win at odds 5.00.
