The Battle of Britain Act 2 gets under way on Tuesday evening in North London at the Emirates Stadium. This is one of the most anticipated ties of the season for the gunners and one that would salvage their season if they reach the Champions League final in Rome. There is no secret that Arsenal has never won this competition and they hope to change it by beating Manchester United at home.

Both teams had good results during last weekend’s domestic actions. Arsenal took the young second team to Portsmouth and won the game with 3-1. A terrific result which cemented Arsenal’s next year’s participation to the Champions League qualifying stage. Manchester United is currently 1st in the league and continued their good form by beating Middleborough away with 2-0. This set up an eagerly anticipate tied where both team is on form and ready to fight it out to meet either Barcelona or Chelsea in the Final in Rome.

Alex Ferguson gave Rooney, Ronado, Anderson and Tevez to warm up the bench during the travel to Middleborough. Rooney and Tevez saw some action in the 2nd half. Expect a full squad to travel to North London on Tuesday. Manchester United will still be without Gary Neville, Wes Brown and Darren Fletcher.

Wenger sent out a second team in Portsmouth including 7 players from the youth rank who sat on the bench. Those 7 players didn’t get a chance to debut and Wenger certainly sent out the importance of the Tuesday game by resting his usual starting lineup players. Bendter scored 2 goals against Portsmouth which will give an option for Wenger for changing his attacking formation.

Arsenal need goals and a victory in order to get to Rome. Arsenal has to attack and they will throw everything they got on the night. It is obvious how Arsenal will play but how will Manchester United play on the night? Manchester United will use Rooney and Ronaldo to play counter attacking football and could spell danger if they are effectively given a space during the game. It’s going to be a game definitely to watch for and Ladbrokes is offering 2.50 for a home win.
