This tie between FCK and Aab could be a title decider factor in the Danish League. FCK is currently top of the league in front of their bitter rivals Brondby with 2 points while current Danish Champions Aab is only 25 points behind. FCK and Aab had a successful UEFA cup campaign this year which both teams were beaten by Manchester City in the last 32 and 16. As Aab concentrates in doing well in the knockout competition, it is also noted that these two teams will meet again in Parken on 21 May for the Danish FA cup final.
FCK is currently the best team in Denmark. Their excellent form saw them do well in Europe and now competing for the 2 domestic medals where the league is given more of a priority. Two points ahead and they can be extending the lead to 5 by the end of Sunday evening. FCK has a strong squad and they play well under pressure. In order for them to be crowned champion they will have to take one game at a time. Brondby will be hoping for FCK slipping up against Aab. Although the fans will not want that to happen as they are hungry to win the league because FCK’s ambition is to play in the Champions League. Anything but a win is guaranteed to be a failure. FCK has been scoring goals consistently in their games, so it won’t be surprising if they will hit 2 or 4 goals past former FCK goalkeeper Karim Zaza.
IF you look at the tables then you won’t believe that Aab is the current Danish champion. They have done poorly in the league and the major factor is because they concentrated in the UEFA Cup. They did well to reach the quarterfinal but now they are in danger of not able to qualify for European football next season. The team has gone through managerial change, players getting injured and not able to be consistent in their weekly game. They seem to turn up for midweek games but not for the weekend ones. Against FCK, the game will fall on a Sunday, so things do look bleak at the moment but the good news is that they won’t be relegated as they have done enough to secure their status for the next season in SAS liga. Prides at stake but Aab will most likely wait for the 21st May to bring their better team to compete with FCK.
These two teams met last year in Parken and FCK ran out winners with a 4-0 score line. Aab would want to avoid this repeat of the score line but with their form, FCK can do more damage to Aab. This has been a strange season for the current Danish champion, they have only found their champion’s form when it comes to European football. It could be easily said that this game is where Aab gives their League crown to FCK who is odds on favorite to take the title this year. FCK to win at Ladbrokes is offering 1.95 for a home win.
